Circles and vines share common symbolic ideas of cycles of growth, infinite time, life, and death. Circles have no start, no corners, and go forever. Vines are more ephemeral but, given the right circumstances, grow without end. They can take over any environment and provide life. Some vines, such as Kudzu, thrive and grow infinitely while taking life from its surroundings. This piece represents the endless cycle of life and how it is in everything around us. Life takes form in the air we breathe and the people we will never know. Life involves struggle and the brutality of being mortal, especially within the idea of memento mori. There is an underlying beauty in life that keeps us all moving forward. We as humans are not much different from plants because, in the end, we will all meet the same fate.
